8.4. Password protect PDFs

PDF Expert 7 lets you protect a PDF file to ensure only a person with a password can open it.

The option to password protect PDFs is one of the features available in the PRO pack. Learn more about the PRO features in PDF Expert 7. 

Note: If you've previously purchased PDF Expert 6, you can password protect PDFs without a subscription.

How to add a password to a PDF file:

  1. Open your file.
  2. Tap Moreat the top right.
  3. Select Set Password.
  4. Type and verify your password.
  5. Tap Set.

Note: There is no option to recover a forgotten password.

How to change or remove a password from a PDF file:

  1. Open a password-protected file.
  2. Tap Moreat the top right.
  3. Select Change Password.
  4. Type and verify your new password and tap Change.
  5. To delete a password, tap Remove Current Password.
